Rusutsu Resort Hotel
Our Thoughts | Rusutsu Resort Hotel
A hotel that seems to have been transported directly from Disneyland. The Resort Hotel is full of bizarre sights and unique objects; a replica of Michael Jackson’s Neverland Carousel, a singing tree, and a musical fountain to name but a few! Despite the oddities this hotel has a prime location at the base of West Mountain, this means that all the rooms are ski-in-ski-out. This is made even better due to night skiing every night on the slopes of West Mountain, making this hotel the place to be to maximise your time on the slopes. Built in the 1980s this hotel will not be winning any prizes for beauty or comfort, however it is perfectly adequate, especially if you are spending all your time in the famous powder of Rusutsu.
The resort hotel building contains a large number of restaurants that cater to your every whim. Kakashi is a classic Japanese izakaya where you can enjoy everything from sashimi to tempura, all washed down with some sake. While Octoberfest provides global cuisines in a buffet format, be sure to take advantage of the all-you-can-eat Hokkaido Snow Crab! There are many more restaurants, you can read more about them in an article that will be written soon.
If you are visiting with children then the resort will provide you with plenty to do. The activities and entertainment on offer are quite staggering and will keep your kids happy. As well as the skiing; snowmobiling, snow rafting, and ice fishing are just a few of the other outdoor activities that you can participate in. If the weather isn’t to your taste then there is plenty to do indoors as well, including a wave pool, arcade complex, and gymnasium.
