Our Rating

Rusutsu Sakaba is found next to Amuse Sports, close to the Seicomart – on route 230. A short walk from The Westin and the Resort.

Oden is a special Japanese dish – varieties of meat, vegetables and even eggs are slowly cooked in a Kombu broth that gives them a delicate flavour. A must try dish!
Yakitori is a classic Japanese dish – meat on a skewer that is grilled to perfection. Sakaba uses locally sourced Rusutsu pork to make it’s Yakitori the best around!
Feeling hungry? The Sakaba roast chicken is the perfect answer – comes as either a half (¥1,500) or whole chicken (¥2,500)!
The chef’s special dish is a delicious mackerel salad.
An amazing selection of Hokkaido craft beers is featured in Sakaba. Here is where you find the best choice of beer in Rusutsu!

Our Thoughts | Rusutsu Sakaba

The latest restaurant to grace the resort, Sakaba is the maiden Rusutsu venture of  restauranteur Paul De Coninck – the man behind Niseko Taproom and Paul’s Cafe in Sapporo. Paul’s roots shine through in the brilliant selection of Belgian and Hokkaido craft beers. Sakaba really is the place to come if you are craving more than just a Sapporo Classic. Featuring beers from Niseko, Otaru, and as far afield as Obihiro you will never get bored here!

The menu has been created by Paul’s longtime associate and experienced chef – Kondo-san – and it highlights the restaurants locally sourced ethos. Ingredients exclusively hale from Hokkaido, in particular the pork, daikon, tofu, and potatoes are all farmed just down the road in Rusutsu. With the large menu you will get to experience many types of truly wonderful Japanese cooking. Classic dishes such as yakitori, sashimi, and tempura are accompanied by the more adventurous, but equally delicious Oden – slowly simmered assortment of meat and vegetables. While there are also nods to western cuisine, with roast chicken, fish & chips, and pasta available – there is something for everyone at Sakaba!
