Every evening this winter season there is a spectacular light display at Rusutsu Resort.

The Kamori Wonder Lights is 6 minute show that runs three times a night between 8:30PM and 9:00PM. It is the largest projection of it’s type in the world and we think it is well worth a watch.

The display features the beautiful Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. This magnificent natural phenomenon is brought to life in the heart of Rusutsu taking you on a magical journey. The projection follows a dog sled through the icy, Northern expanses towards the incredible view of the lights and beyond into the Milky Way. Expect to be blown away by the vivid colours and ethereal music of the Kamori Wonder Lights!

The Aurora Borealis is truly breathtaking

Make sure that you wrap up warm if you plan on viewing the lights from outside, as the display is late in the evening it can be quite cold. However if you are not keen on being out in the cold then you can still view the show from inside the North Wing of the resort complex.

There will also be a summer version of the Kamori Wonder Lights running throughout 2019. This will tell a different story – but is sure to be just as stunning!

So many beautiful colours!

The light display is just one of a number of things that you can do in the evenings at Rusutsu. The night skiing runs until 8:00PM, so that you can enjoy the slopes and still catch the beginning of the show. Or if you prefer more indoor activities then the wave pool and public baths are great ways to relax. And the restaurants and bars of Rusutsu are just a short walk from the light show, while Cricket Bar is only around the corner, if you want to indulge in aprèsski or enjoy some delicious Japanese cuisine.

The public baths are also an after skiing entertainment option
