The most recent addition to the Rusutsu culinary scene is Rusutsu Sakaba.

Found adjacent to Amuse Sports and a mere stumble from the Seicomart, this restaurant is right in the centre of the resort – easily accessible for anyone staying at The Westin or the Resort Hotel.

When you step through the hangings and into Sakaba you enter a world of Japanese inspired cuisine and craft beer. Run by the same team behind Niseko Taproom and Paul’s Cafe in Sapporo it is an exciting addition to Rusutsu’s growing list of wonderful restaurants.

The menu is exclusively sourced from Hokkaido, the closer too Rusutsu the better. These locally sourced ingredients create a series of classic Japanese dishes. Everyone loves Yakitori, but done the Sakaba way the Rusutsu pork and other meats will soon have you ordering more. A daily seafood menu offers diners a delicious variety of fresh Hokkaido seafood. The best way to start your meal is with a platter of the Senposhi oysters, they are a huge and bursting with flavour!

Sakaba is the first restaurant to bring Hokkaido’s growing craft beer industry to the slopes of Rusutsu. If you are bored of the ever-present Sapporo or Asahi then look no further than the beer taps here. There is something for everyone – a brown ale from the north of Hokkaido, Niseko’s famous pale ale, an Otaru pilsner, and even a dark porter from Obihiro.

Sakaba is open for lunch (11:30-3:00) and dinner (5:00-11:00) with last food orders at 9:30. Although there is ample seating in this restaurant we would recommend that you book ahead.
